LiveGODLoud Ministries Announcement for Summer 2020
Greetings to all our Appalachian Youth Camp & Kidz Adventure team. I trust you are all doing well and that you are surviving the reality that is COVID 19. Wow, what an incredible ride this has been for all of us. Is anything still the same as it was on March 1? What will things be like in the coming months? So many questions but very few answers. That seems to be the new norm.
After several conversations and deliberation, I'm sad to tell you we will not be hosting AYC or KA at Roxbury this year. We came to this decision based not only on all things Covid-19 and the fact that there are so many unanswered questions about social distancing, housing campers, Roxbury Camp regulations, etc. In addition, we also recognized that fundraising for students this late in the year would be difficult as well. Our goal in ministry is NEVER to make it difficult for our students to encounter Jesus-- that includes financial challenges.
Now the awesome news! Having made the above statement, let me now tell you what we DO have in mind for AYC/KA 2020! I'm excited to share that we will be providing a 3-day online resource for our churches to participate in an interactive, competitive, and most importantly, spiritually exciting weekend as we move all things to AYC online.
Our camp directors, Megan Harshbarger, (AYC) and Tosha McCrary (KA) and their teams are already developing and planning on what this is going to look like for you and your teens and children this summer. AYC online (official event name not finalized) will be on July 23 – 25, 2020. Mark your calendars and be planning to join us. You will be hearing from our leaders in the near future concerning plans and details.
We are going to miss being at AYC/KA (Roxbury) with all of you for the first time in thirty-nine years. On the other hand, we are very excited to enter into this new and exciting venture of online ministry. We look forward to seeing the impact this can make for young people everywhere. Thank you for understanding and supporting the decisions our leadership has made. We will come back bigger and better than ever in 2021. Be waiting for what’s ahead. God bless you all as you continue to navigate through this craziness we call the "Crona Virus."
